Addressing YouTube's New Policies • Patreon, Love Will Wisdom, The Internet Archive

On August 13th, Youtube has began implementing changes to their platform that threatens not only the content that is on it, but its user’s safety and freedom as well.

If you are not aware, YouTube has already began rolling out two changes to their platform, which has been the home of online internet videos since 2005. One change involves videos being altered by AI without the creators permission, something which threatens the Integrity of all work published to the site.

The second change is that YouTube will now use an AI algorithm to detect if you are under 18 by the content you watch. If you are deemed to be “under 18” then a large sum of YouTube’s content will be censored for you. To undo this action, you must upload a photo of your U.S. ID.

We believe uploading your ID to any website is a violation of your privacy, and so we have taken significant steps to update our Patreon and offer a better experience for the people who decide to jump platforms in the wake of YouTube’s decision. For those though who cannot make the jump from a free platform to a paid service, we would also like to point you to Esocrypt’s new Internet Archive account, there we plan to release all the videos that come out on YouTube. We also plan to archive sources from our videos, live event footage, and non-video content as well.

This October will also mark the season finale of Celluloid Souls, which will feature Egyptian-American painter Basil Gogos, which will be available on YouTube, the Internet Archive, and Patreon.

Another reason to join Esocrypt’s Patreon page is access to the remastered Love, Will, and Wisdom Documentary. Debuting in 2022, it was River V.C.’s first feature film created for free in partnership with Temple of Witchcraft to bring an awareness to everyday Neo-Pagan beliefs. 30 minutes of extra footage from the filming documentary were shown at TOW event Templehearth After Dark. If/when Esocrypt receives permission from River to showcase those, they will likely only be available on Patreon only.

Our world continues to change. The gradual unfortunate trend of media being something that private entities control and dominate will continue unless we do something to stop it. If we can keep art in the hands of the people, it will always be a tool we can use to aid, celebrate, and cement Liberation.
